Oakgrove Secondary School & Community Sports Centre
(Phase 1a) - Milton Keynes

Project description Forms part of the Oakgrove
Millennium Community and was constructed in under 12 months on a former
landfill site. The steel frame structure has a pre- fabricated timber
envelope. The scheme was designed to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’
rating and included super insulation, rainwater harvesting, solar
collectors, and one of the largest ground source heat pump installations
in Europe. |

Project description Appointed as Consultant
Architect by Daimler Chrysler UK. To advise on Brand Architecture and
Corporate Identity of the Mercedes-Benz, Smart, Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands. Projects included a number of
refurbishment and new build facilities within the southern region.

Lord Grey Secondary School Extension - Milton Keynes

Project description This 11 classroom block
extension is located within the grounds of an existing Secondary school in
Milton Keynes. It provides teaching spaces for modern foreign languages.
The strong linear building form is offset by a ‘wavy’ corridor wall
which provides a series of much needed communal break out spaces. |

Middleton Combined School - Milton Keynes

Project description The concept of this 420 place
school is based on a central drum that accommodates the shared spaces
within the school. Two curvilinear wings are orientated to the North and
South of the drum, creating a protected external space for foundation and
Key-stage 1 children.
The scheme was Highly Commended in the 2005 SCALA
Awards. |

Broughton Combined School - Milton Keynes

Keynes Local Education Authority
Contract £2.4m
Project description This 420 place timber framed
school, constructed in 10 months, is based on three identical clusters,
containing four classrooms and a flexible shared area positioned around
the centrally located shared resources, such as the Hall, IT Suite and
Library. The concept offers an alternative to the typical linear school
plan with high ratios of circulation area. |
